Quite a lot of time has passed since my last post. I didn't really do it on purpose, but I've had a lot on my plate this semester and just didn't seem to possess the desire to blog. I've been reading a lot of blogs lately and I have a newfound desire to write. It's Christmas season and that makes me excited--family, food, presents, snow, movies, fudge, old friends, etc.
I realize my first blog was a tiny bit heavy. Well, really heavy. It was what I needed to do at the time to sort through some of those emotions. I needed to know that I was still capable of having feelings, other than apathy. I tend to shut up or shut down when a lot of chaos is going on in my life. I internalize and suppress. It's what I do best! It eventually comes bursting forth, like Niagra falls, and it is then that I seek Christ. I seek Him when I am in pieces. Not exactly a pretty cycle to be a part of. I'm gracious that Adam has continued to love me the way he does. There have been many I night I needed to just cry on his shoulder. And he lets me, well most of the time ;)
I think blogging is so much cooler than facebook for a few reasons, mainly because blogging allows you to know so much more about a person's life than fbook. Sure, you can see pictures, status updates, wall posts, common friends, blah blah blah--but those are all very superficial aspects of life. With blogging, you learn so much more about the person. You get to take a little peak at what's going on in their heart or their mind. You get to see what's causing them great pain or great joy. Sure, not all posts are sappy or soul-searching, but you get my gist! Blogging is just very different than facebook. Which is why I have both.
On a lighter note, I am officially half of a nurse! I have three semesters left, two of which I hopefully get to take masters courses to go towards my APN degree. Nice. I really enjoyed this last semester. Maternity was definitely a favorite so far. I don't think I want to do that for a career, but I could see myself there temporarily. Nursing is just such a fun and versatile career.
Hopefully I will be more regular at updating this thing and build up my blogging community :) Maybe get a follower or two!
